This 25 acre recreation area was near the community known as Glory Hole. It was located near the bottom of the eastern hill on Portage Road. It was the common meeting place for the Wayne County Pioneer Picnic Association. According to an article written by Paul Locher for the Daily Record, at the 7th annual Wayne County Pioneer Picnic, more than 10,000 county residents attended the reunion held at Highland Park.
