Biography

William H. Harry was born in Wooster, Ohio on March 17, 1850 being one of four sons born to Jesse Harry (2/14/1816-3/25/1882) and Eliza A. (Stair) Harry, both born in York County, Pennsylvania. William H. Harry learned the photography business by working with Benjamin F. Baltzly for a number of years before venturing out on his own by leasing the Teeple Art Gallery in September of 1873 in Wooster, Ohio. After William H. Harry died at 43 years old on August 19, 1892 his brother Albert S. Harry, operated the photographic studio until he sold it to Samuel H. Dawson in 1894.
