  • 1892 - McClure & Hinton - Some people may sigh for the good old log cabin with fire place and back log, but modern dwellings are not considered well furnished without a good Cook Stove or Range. One the southwest side of the public square is located the Stove and Tin Store of Messrs. McClure & Hinton. This firm carries a large line of Porcelain, Tinware and Cooking Utensils of every description, also the most complete line of Electrical Equipment / Appliance / Component Manufacturing to be found in this city, embracing a large variety heating, parlor and cook Electrical Equipment / Appliance / Component Manufacturing and Ranges of many varieties, one of the leading heaters being the "Round Oak," a cut of which is given here with. This stove is such a favorite that Messrs. McClure & Hinton buy them in car load lots, the three floors of this house are laden with many other popular stoves and heaters, too numerous to mention here. In connection also is a large job and repair shop, in which several men are employed. A large stock of mantels, grates and tiling kept in stock. A sample of very fine grate may be seen in the show window of this house.

The names of McClure has been connected with the stove trade in Wooster for fully 50 years. C. W. McClure and W. H.
