This business was started fully a quarter of a century ago by Mr. J. L. Gray, and was conducted by him up to the times of his death, since which time, under its present firm name the business has been continued and enlarged under the ownership of his son, Charles M. Gray. This house deals quite extensively in the articles above mentioned, controlling the best grades of steam and domestic coal. The firm carries at all times the standard grades and varieties of sewer pipe, drain tile, lime, salt and cement, furnished in car load lots or in small quantities to suit purchasers, with the most complete facilities for meeting all the demands of a growing trade. Mr. Gray is also identified with the manufacturing interests of Galion, Crawford County, O., operating one of the best equipped flouring mills of that section, in charge of Herman Plank, a practical miller.
