Whereas, Hon. Andrew Carnegie, of the City of New York has offered to donate to the City of Wooster, Ohio the sum of fifteen thousand dollars for the erection of a new library building for a public library in the City of [unreaqdable] the condition that the City f Woster raise by taxation annually the sum of fifteen hundred dollars for the support and maintenance f said librry in said city; be it therefore,

Resolved. That the city council of the City of Wooster, in regular session on the 6th day of July, 1903, does hereby pledge the faith of the City of Wooster to levy a tax and raise by taxation the sum of fifteen hundred dollars annually for the support and maintenance and to be used solely for the support and maintenance each year of the free public library no incorporated and in operation in the said City of Wooster, Ohio. Be it further

Resolved. That the resolution adopted February 16, 1903, be and the same is hereby rescinded.

The motion to aqdopt the resolution was made by Mr. Aylesworth and seconded by Mr. Kisling, and motion was declared adopted by the rising vote of all members. This action was applauded by those citizens present, and James Mullins, president of the board of trustees of the free library, thanked council for their action.
