- 1870s - Benrose Billman bought the Union House Hotel from Riley Franks. Billman moved the Union House Hotel across the street to make room for a brick, 24 room Hotel. The Sanborn Maps shoe the Empire Hotel at this location in 1885.
- 1900s - The economy cause the hotel business to dwindle and the Hotel became a family residence. The Sanborn Maps show Billman House at this location in 1915
- 1974 - the house was demolished to become the site of old Wayne County Public Library Doylestown branch and then the Doylestown Police Station.
