- that George Slusser is a regular ordained
- Minister of the Reformed Church it was then
- and there ordered by the said Court that the
- said George Slusser should receive a
- license authorizing him to solemnize
- marriages within the State of Ohio so long as
- continue such regular Minister which he
- is hereby granted to him accordingly

- To all whom this presents shall
- come greeting
- Know ye that at a court of Common
- Pleas began and held at Lancaster in the
- County aforesaid on the 16th day of March
- AD 1836. It being made to appear to the
- satisfaction of the court that Absalom
- B. Shaeffer was a regularly ordained
- Minister of the Gospel in the Evangelical
- Association. It was therefore ordered
- that License to Solemnize Marriages
- within the State of Ohio, be granted to
- the said Absalom B Shaeffer so long
- as he shall continue in regular standing
- as a Minister in said Church.
- These are therefore to license
- and permit the said Absalom B. Shaeffer
- to Solemnize Marriages by virtue of
- the pursuances aforesaid.
- Given under my
- hand and official Seal at Lancaster
- aforesaid this 216th day of March AD

- his Associates in and for the County of Holmes
- aforesaid. On motion and it appearing to
- satisfaction of the Court that George Gordon
- was a regular ordained minister of the Gospel
- of the Denomination usually called Presbyterian &
- it was ordered that a License be granted to
- him authorizing him to solemnize marriages
- within this State so long as he should continue
- a regular Minister in said Church. Therefore
- he the said George Gordon is hereby authorized
- and Licensed to Solemnize marriages between those
- applying to him for that purpose within said
- State of Ohio and who by the Laws of said
- State may be legally joined in marriage
