In 1910 Mr. Ames added the Italianate style front porch as a wedding gift to his wife. During their ownership added a back section for living space. One of the Ames daughters lived in the house until its sale to Jo and James Howey. Several antique pieces owned by the Ames family are still found throughout the home. The Howeys began the Bed & Breakfast in 1986 - it was the first Bed and Breakfast in Wooster. The Bed and Breakfast was sold  to Marcia Blum in 2006.
