A Daughter of Sherman Loren {{Surname|Brainerd}}, who came to [[Ohio]] in 1814, was a carpenter, cabinet maker, gunsmith and farmer in [[Brooklyn Village, Ohio]]. He married Louisa {{Surname|Calkins}} on Feb. 22, 1837 and had 7 daughters and one son that died in infancy. Louisa (Calkins) Brainerd died on Sep. 30, 1882; Sherman L. Brainerd died on Nov. 28, 1887 at 74yrs 3m 14days.
