Historical Information

Chippewa Township was established September 4, 1815.[1] It was named after an Indian tribe.[2]

It began at the SE corner of section 31 of township 18, of range 11 of the original survey to the NW corner of section 6 to the NE corner of the county to the SE corner of section of 36.[3]
