1887 - Wholesale and Retail Druggists and Chemists
 +
This house was first established here in 1880, and has secured the acknowledged popular favor it enjoys, not only with the medical fraternity but citizens generally, by the excellence of the stock carried and the professional ability which have characterized their business operations and policy. Messrs. Laubach & Boyd carry a complete line of pure drugs and chemicals, all popular and desirable patent medicines, imported and American perfumeries, toilet articles and notions in large variety, fine and reliable trusses, pure native and imported wines and liquors, strictly for medicinal and sacramental purposes, fine cigars, etc., with a first-class soda fountain for the summer months. The individual members of this firm are George R. Laubach and Samuel Boyd, both of whom are thoroughly practical druggists of 20 years experience, and employment is given to two assistants. Special care is taken in the accurate compounding of physicians' prescriptions and all pharmaceutical compounds from the purest ingredients. [1]

Annual Business Review of Wayne County (1887) 1887 - Wholesale and Retail Druggists and Chemists This house was first established here in 1880, and has secured the acknowledged popular favor it enjoys, not only with the medical fraternity but citizens generally, by the excellence of the stock carried and the professional ability which have characterized their business operations and policy. [1]

The Laubach and Boyd store was an extensive dealer in drugs, druggists' sundries, and physicians supplies, both wholesale and retail. George R. Laubach engaged in business for himself in 1880 and Samuel H. Boyd had been associated with the Zimmerman & Co. store for seventeen years before partnering with Laubach in 1884. Boyd succeeded F. H. Donnelly, who had previously been a partner of Laubach.[2]
