The new refrigerator works on E Liberty Street came close to being destroyed by fire on Saturday afternoon.  Sparks from the engine furnace somehow ignited the combustible material at the bottom of skirts which acted as a chimney and drew fire upwards.  Fortunately the workmen on the second floor saw it and all hands turned out to extinguish the flames.<br>
