"Death of Christian H. Yoder. The community was great surprised last Sunday morning to learn of the death of Christian H. Yoder, proprietor of the Yoder House on East Liberty Street. His death was sudden, he being seriously ill only two days, The cause of death was congestion of the brain, and his age 53 years.
He was born on a farm near Orrville. For a number of years he followed the carpenter trade; then engaged in the grocery business at Easton, and from there he removed to Doylestown, where he kept a grocery store and afterwards a hotel. About ten years ago he purchased the Eastern House in Wooster, and conducted it successfully for seven years, when he retired. Last spring he leased the old American Hotel, changing its name to Yoder Hotel, and was doing a prosperous business. He was a quiet, unassuming man, of best repute for honesty and integrity. His wife and three children survive him, the children being Mrs. Effie Oswald, of Lima, and Will and Roy Yoder, of Wooster. The funeral tool place yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon."
