"Congress, May 28 -- Relatives in town have received notice of the death of George L. Cross, which occurred at St. Francis Hospital, Baltimore, Md., May, Mr. Cross' age was 47 years years months and 8 days. Mr. Cross was a resident of Congress for many years, was an ex mayor of the village and at one time principal of the high school. He was a man of fine literary attainments.
Mr. Anna Essick and Miss Bess Leiter were late guests of relatives in Akron.
At Friday's meeting of the Board of Education three bids for the erection of the Township High School building were received and rejected. A change was made in the specifications and new bids will be opened June 8."
