"At the turn of the century, one or two-room schoolhouses were scattered over the countryside. Reading, Writing, Arithmetic, English, Spelling and Health were taught. Andy-over, kickball and volleyball were played with ice skating and sled riding when weather permitted. A cherished position was getting the school's drinking water bucket filled. No heated buses then!" [1]
