"Deco Tile Company hires Leroy J. Yoder as plant manager: Wayne Mullet resigns. LeRoy Schlabach, Sec.-Treas., of the Deco-Tile, Inc. announced that LeRoy J. (Lee) Yoder has been hired as plant manager of Deco Tile.

Mr. Yoder replaces Wayne Mullet who has been plant manager since 1959 and resigned to go into business for himself. He has purchased interest in Flavor Chip, Inc. of Rittman. They will make "Tasty Chips," a snack food in various flavors. Mr. Mullet continues as vice president of Deco Tile.

Deco Tile Co. began operations in Dalton in 1957 with the purchase of the old Houghton Pottery property for the manufacture of ceramic clay tile. In 1959 an addition was built and clay bathroom accessories were added to the tile line. Two years ago Deco bought the assets of the Dalton Pottery Co.. This doubled the floor space. A ceramic teapot line for the hotel and restaurant trade was purchased from Dalton Pottery and added to the expanded operations which use all of the present buildings. Last summer an other addition was made to the front of the building for additional mixing equipment and clay storage. There are approximately 50 employees at present.

Many of Deco Tile's products are made for and sold through other manufacturers. Bathroom accessories are manufactured for file tile co's own line and make up about 45 percent of sales. Shipments are regularly made to Florida and Texas warehouses.

Lee Yoder is from Uniontown, Ohio area and has been in the home construction business as a general contractor. He is married and the father of two boys, ages 5 and 3. The Yoders are still living in Uniontown but have rented the Harold Schupbach house at 204 West Main and will move to Dalton soon."
