The Methodist Episcopal Church located on East Clay Street, Fredericksburg was established in 1821 as Fredericksburg Methodist. The name changed between 1826 and 1830. The first building was erected in 1830 south of Fredericksburg. A second building was erected in 1860. In 1926 the church merged with a Presbyterian church to form the Union Church. In 1954 the Union Church and Federated Church merged to form Fredericksburg Presbyterian Church.
