Description photo The Infirmary of Wayne County. We cannot help noticing this well-conducted institution, which speaks well for the County to which it belongs. Due credit is given the superintendent and matron, Mr. A. R. and S. A. Sweeney, for their care, kindness, intelligence, and experience in the management of this institution. I was through the building, and find that cleanliness, order, system and classification prevails throughout. Six Classes at separate tables. The insane are classified also, and have separate dining rooms. The strong rooms provided for the restraint of the violent, are admirable-- this department is tidy throughout. The greatest care is taken with the children to keep them clean and neat, and thus render them tidy in appearance, and great pains to the Matron and Directors, for it is decidedly one of the finest conducted infirmaries in the state. Wayne County is under obligations to Charles Gorsche, Esq., Joseph Hoesler, and Adam Eyman, who have devoted themselves so earnestly to the infirmary as directors.
