  • 1887 - The Wooster Co-Operative Foundry Company was organized an chartered in 1885, with a capital stock of $5,000, for the purpose of manufacturing every description of machine castings and general repair work, in which the most complete facilities are enjoyed and the best skilled labor utilized. About 15 skilled workmen find remunerative employment under the co-operative plan, which promises the most satisfactory results. Contracts are taken for the execution of every description of standard castings, or special moulds or patterns will be made for new inventions or special machinery at reasonable prices. To this department has recently been added a well-equipped machine shop, giving the company the most ample facilities for general job and repair work in connection with engines and machinery of all kinds. The officers of this company are Mr. Daniel Funck, President and L. P. Ohliger, Secretary and Treasurer, John Stevens, Superintendent; under whose able management is promised the most satisfactory results. [1]
