In its heyday, the business was hopping. Jefferson was at the crossroads of U.S. routes 30 and 250 and was a last pit stop for westward travelers heading out of Wooster. Frank Lewis recalled childhood years spent mowing the lawns, busing tables and washing dishes." [1]

  • 1920s - Built in the early 1920s by Paul Spangler. First called Log Cabin, The serving sandwiches and side dishes to travelers and stagecoach riders. [2]
  • mid 1940s - Business purchased by Angie Hoyer, a best friend of Mary Lewis [3]
  • late 1960s - Mary Lewis purchased the business. [4]
  • Lewis family ran the business for decades. Mary Lewis and Harry Lewis and their children Frank Lewis, Sue Lewis DaCapua and Mari-Lyn Hammond. [5]

  • 2006 - September 16 - Auction at 10am - The sale included: the restaurant and motel, adjacent residence, equipment and furnishings used in business. Auction by Bob Schubert of Realty One, sale, the Auctioneer is Larry Janchar of Marshallville. [8]
