The Shack, oftentimes simply referred to as Shack,<ref> June 19, 1958:"College Shack was opened in 1913" The Daily Record p. 17 </ref> was a well-loved institution located at [[E. Pine St., Wooster, Ohio|437 E. Pine St.]]. It was operated by Bill Syrios (known as [[William Syriopoulos]] until shortening the family name in the 1940's <ref> 1943 Wooster City Directory </ref>) until his death in 1957 <ref> January 7, 1957: "W. K. Syrious, 'Shack' Owner 41 Years, Dies" The Daily Record p. 2 </ref> Under his care, the Shack grew from a cafe to a restaurant <ref> 1954 Wooster City Directory </ref> and earned its reputation as a "home away from home" for many [[College of Wooster]] students <ref> December 01, 1996: "A Home Away From Home For Generations of Students" The Daily Record </ref>. After Bill Syrios' death, the business continued to stay in the family. Bill's sons, Menelaus and Gus, daughter Anna, and wife Mary, all had turns running the business until 1973 <ref> Wooster City Directories 1958-1973 </ref>. Between 1974 and 1993, the location passed through several owners and was home to a number of business types. The Shack returned under the ownership of Greg Wutcher in 1993 <ref> 1993 Wooster City Directory </ref>. It was operated by Bill Syrios (known as William Syriopoulos until shortening the family name in the 1940's [2]) until his death in 1957 [3] Under his care, the Shack grew from a cafe to a restaurant [4] and earned its reputation as a "home away from home" for many College of Wooster students [5]. After Bill Syrios' death, the business continued to stay in the family. Bill's sons, Menelaus and Gus, daughter Anna, and wife Mary, all had turns running the business until 1973 [6]. Between 1974 and 1993, the location passed through several owners and was home to a number of business types. The Shack returned under the ownership of Greg Wutcher in 1993 [7]. Lois Rogers, Gloria Mohr, Mike Morris, and Matt Watts were subsequent owners of the restaurant. The building located at 437 E.
