- 1968 - Quick Chek Foods convenience stores incorporated.
- 1969 - Purchases Isaly Dairy in Mansfield, Ohio and Marion, Ohio.
- 1971 - Smith Dairy wins Quality Chekd marketing award. Bottling milk in half-gallon glass bottles discontinued.
- 1972 - Smith Dairy stops using glass milk bottles and begins blow molding milk jugs.
- 1977 - Purchases Bauer Dairy, Elyria, Ohio and Parson's Dairy, Oberlin, Ohio, Walter Schmid named president, Steve Schmid begins his career at Smith Dairy.
- 1979 - Smith Dairy wins Quality Chekd Weber Award for overall quality.
- 1980 - Smith Dairy wins Quality Chekd Weber Award for second consecutive year.
- 1983 - New HTST pasteurizing system installed and results in increased speed and efficiency.
- 1985 - Smith Dairy wins Quality Chekd Weber Award.
- 1986 - Steve Schmid named president.
- 1987 - Foil seal on plastic bottles introduced; plastic half gallons introduced; new Bossie delivery system implemented.
- 1988 - Working agreement with Ruggles Ice Cream begins.
- 1989 - New ice cream plant open in Orrville; Smith Dairy enters the Guinness Book of World Records for producing largest milkshake at 1,891 gallons. Ruggles frozen yogurt introduced.
- 1992 - Smith Dairy moves into new corporate offices and distribution center on Dairy Lane, Orrville, Ohio.
- 1993 - Smith Dairy wins Quality Chekd Zimmerman Award for excellence in marketing.
- 1994 - Smith Dairy wins Quality Chekd Weber Award; acquires Wayne Dairy, a UHT plant in Richmond, Indiana.
- 1995 - Smith Dairy wins Quality Chekd Zimmerman Award for marketing.
- 1996 - Smith Dairy wins Quality Chekd Weber Award.
- 1998 - Introduces the first UHT plastic bottles in the U.S. (Santa & Mrs. Claus eggnog); Moovers brand single-serve milk launched.
- 1999 - Smith's brand introduces milk in yellow Super Jug gallons and half-gallons.
- 2000 - Smith Dairy wins Quality Chekd Weber Award; begins using stretch-sleeve labels on gallons.
- 2002 - Acquires Goshen Dairy in New Philadelphia, Ohio.
- 2003 - Ruggles brand introduces new two-piece scround container; bottled water production begins.
- 2004 - Branch facility opens in New Philadelphia, Ohio.
- 2005 - 34,000 square-foot cooler expansion to Dariy Lane distribution center is completed wit state-of-the-art logistics systems.
- 2006 - Milk supply becomes 100% free of artificial growth hormones (rBST).
- 2008 - Plants are certified organic for milk and ice cream.
