Paintville Dutch Presbyterian and Lutheran located on Lots 25 and 26 in Paintville (present day Mt. Eaton was established 20 June 1818 with 20 members. The land was deeded to Church Trustees in 1827 per Wayne County Land Deeds, Volume 7, page 568. According to the History of Wayne County, Ohio, Volume 1, B.F. Bowen & Co., 1910, page 262, the church had a membership of 409 in 1878, but membership had dwindled to 18 in 1910.
