Town or city Wooster, Ohio
Country United States
Completed 1944
Technical details
Floor count Six

The Muncy Farm Barn is located on the former Muncy poultry farm on Prairie Lane, about a mile north of Moreland. The previous barn was destroyed by fire on March 30, 1944, when a baler standing outside the barn overheated while workmen baled fodder. Water taken from the stream south of the buildings helped save the farm house, but a large poultry house and one additional building shared the fate of the barn.

On May 1, construction began on a replacement barn. The six-story new barn was described as a "rural skyscraper" and was built with tile and cement blocks over the footprint of the previous barn. All lumber used was cut from the woods on the Muncy Farm.

Features

The 1944 barn was built to six stories, two stories higher than the previous structure.
