Comprehensive History

One of the best early cafeterias was the Lincoln Highway Cafeteria which later became Keeney's Cafeteria in the hotel at the corner of Buckeye and E. Liberty streets (Archer House). When Keeney's closed, some of the employees, along with their pots and pans, moved out Portage Rd. and became Hawkins Cafeteria.[1]

Huntley Gilbert Pierce purchased Keeney's Cafeteria in Wooster in 1949.
