Besancon Barn |
---|
Neil and Natasha Wood started Jump N SHOUT! in 2016 after they noticed that it was difficult to find places that both their children (4 years apart in age) enjoyed. Originally from South Africa, the Woods decided to do something for their own family that was close to home and fulfilled their dream of owning their own business. After seeing that the red barn on the same property as The Barn Restaurant and Toyrifix was available, the Woods created their business.
The barn itself has a long history in the area, having once served as a dairy barn on the Besancon farm on Geyers Chapel Road. Originally constructed in the 1820s, the barn needed to be removed from the family farm and was purchased in 2003 by Don Dravenstott, owner of The Barn Restaurant. The barn was reassembled near Toyrifix, along State Route 585, and an addition was created for a furniture assembly area. Minor architectural changes were made when the Woods took over the ownership of the building, but the timber-framed barn retains most of its original timbers and charm.[1]
