    Barn Burned

    • Barn Burned.
      • The barn on the farm of John A. Lawrence, two and a half miles west of this city, was totally destroyed by fire early yesterday morning. We were unable to learn the total amount of loss, but it was large, as nothing was saved except a couple of horses. Among other things destroyed were about 350 bushels of wheat, 600 bushels of corn, oats, hay ad farming implements. It was with great difficulty that the residence was saved. The origin of the fire is a mystery. A public sale was held on the premises on Tuesday and it is the opinion of many that the first started from a cast off cigar, while other are of the opinion that it was the work of an incendiary.
