- 1953 Holmesville joined Mt. Eaton, Apple Creek and Fredericksburg to become Southeast Local School District
- 1958 - Kindergarten was added and developed by Mrs. Marge Evans
- 1967 - After the new Waynedale High School opened the old high school was converted to John R. Lea Intermediate
- 1980 - Because of the energy crisis windows and unused doors were bricked in.
- 1989 - The school was again overcrowded and another addition of classrooms and two restrooms were added over the 1941 and 1967 additions at a cost of $250,000
