It was originally mentioned in the Williams' Akron, Wooster & Cuyahoga Falls directory of 1859 as being located on the north side of Liberty St. between Walnut St. and Grant St.[1] By 1884 it had relocated to 21 N. Buckeye St. and was being run as a boarding house by A. W. Melsheimer. [2]
