John David Berger who was a restaurateur in Wooster at the turn of the last century, was born in [[Mt. Eaton, Ohio]] in 1854. In 1876 he married Johanna L. {{Surname|Tracey}} who was born near [[Apple Creek, Ohio|Apple Creek]]. In his business career he early built the [[Maysville Drain & Tile Works]] at that town, which he operated for five years, and then came to work for the [[Underwood Whip Company]] of [[Wooster, Ohio|Wooster]], where he was employed as a traveling salesman for another five years.
