"Dalton's First Christ tree appeared in front of the town hall in 1909 or 1910. Pictured with the town's first tree are: left to right, W. P. Slusser, grocer, N. R. Cooney, attorney and mayor, G. C. Freet, clothiers, and C. B. Feasel, tinsmith. Community residents gathered at the town's Christmas tree to sing carols several nights proceeding Christmas."
