"There were give members of the class, and although the number may seem small it is marvelous when one thinks of the large number of small towns sending out five and ten graduates every year. The members of the class, and their oration subjects follow.

Encouragement and Discouragement, Miss Ruby Shepherd; Success, Edward Weiler. The American Flag, Mable Barnard, The Perpetuity of our Liberty, Be s c ________ M. Ewing; To the Youth of America Laura M. Ward.

Prof. Wenie of this city gave the address, and chose as his subject, Topics, on general subjects and gave graduates many new views in their lives in the future. The music was furnished by the Congress band, and was warmly received by the large crowd. Prof. L. S. Knight, Supt. of Schools, presented the class with diplomas, in a few well chosen words.

The annual Congress High School commencement was held Friday evening in the Congress Methodist Church at that place. The church was filled to its capacity and everybody enjoyed the address of the graduates. The decorations were the class colors lavender and white, spring flowers, and Old Glory, which makes the scene more patriotic and picturesque. The class motto, "Is Life Without Literature, Is Death, and the class flower The Rose."
