"The Smithville High School vocational agricultural judging team with a total score of 1485 points won the 1993 Wayne County F. F. A. livestock judging contest, it was announced today.
The team composed of Kenneth Conrad, Clyde Strickland, Walter O'Hail and Fred Lants, was coached by J. J. Haley, instructor. A handsome silver loving cup was awarded the winning team.
The Congress High School team composed of Harry Aukerman, Fred Strine, Russel Gortner and Junior Dreibelbis, won second place. The Applecreek High School team was third, and Wooster High School team fourth.
The Applecreek team was composed of Robert Kindig, Donald Odenkirk, Max Way, Richard Wilson, and Charles Cutter. The Wooster team was composed of Ronald McCoy, Bruce Crissinger, Randall Billman and John Nixon."
