"At a special meeting of the Cannon Township Board of Education held last night in Creston. Prof. W. J. Hime who for the past two years has been principal of the Creston schools was promoted to the super intendency Mr. Hime is well known in this county and his splendid work as principal during the past two years has shown the board that he was material needed to fill the office of superintendent.

Prof. J. W. Kern, who has served as superintendent for some time recently tendered his resignation to the board to take the office of superintendent of the Madison township centralized schools in Richland county. Mr. Kern made many warm friends at Creston who regret to see him leave that community."
