"Company has new owners. Charles Hauff, President of Clarke Ceramic Corporation, located at 110 E. Main Street in Dalton, announced today that he and a group of his associates have purchased the company from its former owner, Robertson Americna Corporation, Morrisville, Pennsylvania.
Mr. Hauff stated that this move will assure that the company will remain in Dalton and help it to react better to the needs of its employees and customers.
Mr. Hauff and his associates were assisted by Mr. Donald Brabham of the First National Bank of Dalton which is participating in the company's financing. Previously the company was a part of The Clarke Corporation and its financial activities management were located in Pennsylvania.
Hauff reports that employment at the plant should increase slightly during the summer months, but will probably not reach full employment until the building business recovers.
Clarke Ceramic Corporation manufacturers ceramic bathroom fixtures and accessories and has been operating in the town of Dalton for approximately 26 years, formerly under the name of Deco Tile Co. The factory is located on the site fo the former Houghton Potterywhich has been an historical landmark in Dalton for many years."
