In December 1993 the Das Dutch Kitchen Restaurant 14278 East Lincolnway Dalton built a new addition to the east of the old farmhouse restaurant to expand their business. They never dreamed they would have outgrown that addition so soon. Now four years later they are expanding again this time to make room for more banquet facilities and an enlarged bakery area. Workmen have been taking advantage of the mild weather to try and get the new addition, located to the rear of the restaurant, under roof before the bad weather blows through the area. Dennis Horst, managing partner for the Das Dutch Kitchen said the new addition is about 60,000 square feet and will help expand their lobby to include a larger bakery area and enlarge the bakery kitchen. There will also be an area for bulk foods as well as a gift area. A 50 seat banquet room will also be tucked away in the new area. A first floor office will is included in the design. The inside will have the same atmosphere, continuing with the oak trim and Victorian style, Horst said.

The new addition will feature a wrap around porch on the outside and a car port area for drop off of customers. There will be new parking spaces added to accommodate the increased traffic, Horst noted.

When completed in the Spring, the restaurant, which includes the old farm house portion, will be able to seat 425 customers. They will be able to accommodate 160 people in a banquet room or small parties of just 10 if needed. They will have a total of 6 banquet rooms available in the restaurant after construction is completed.

The original farm house will be remolded later on as banquet rooms also.

Das Dutch Kitchen's new addition is under roof and the main area is still open for business as workmen try to close-in the project before the snow flies.
