COUNTY GETS A NEW STRONG BOX.
A Big Safe Put in the Treasury This Morning.
It has been known for several years that the safe in the vault of the County Treasury was in an unsafe condition and the County Commissioners have been repeatedly so notified by those appointed to examine the treasury. The Commissioners finally became convinced that the time had come to put in a new safe and some days ago placed an order with the Mosier Safe Co., Hamilton, O., for one of their best safes. The safe was placed in to the treasury today under the direction of Mr. Oscar Geiger, an expert from the factory. The safe is a beauty and warranted absolutely fire and burglar proof, weighing over four tons, equipped with a six-inch patent screw revolving door. Inside of the outer door are doors of one and one-half inch steel, and inside of this four inch doors of steel to the strong box. When the outer door is closed the massive safe is impervious to oil or powder. It will stand in the office between the vault and the inside of the grating.
