- 1924 - Storage Plant Is About Done - The Minglewood Coal and Ice company will soon be able to use its new cold and ice storage plant on the company's grounds near the coal yard. The construction work is being done by Contractors Long and Bogner and is about completed.
The cork work is being done by L. Mundet and Son of New York. The insulation is nearly finished and the piping has about all been installed by the Vitter Mfg. Co. of Milwaukee.
There will be an elevator in the plant and it will be furnished by the Otis Elevator Company. The plant will contain three large cold storage rooms in addition to a large ice storage place, which may also be used for cold storage purposes. The Minglewood company is hurrying completion of the plant because contracts have been made with several parties to place apples, fruits, vegetables and eggs in storage by the beginning of winter. In a few days the company will have ready for distribution a circular giving prices per bushel or per crate for storage. The circular will contain rates for other things that may be placed in storage.
The storage of ice will make available for Wooster and other places a supply that will meet the needs at all times. The plant is one of the best equipped in the state. The company's business has grown rapidly and the officers are preparing to take care of more towns next season than were supplied this year. [2]
