Rev. Nesbit to be Pastor Here: Call goes out to Newcastle Man from Congregation of First Presbyterian Church.
The Rev. S. M. F. Nesbit, of Newcastle, Pa., was chosen, by unanimous vote, Sunday, as pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Wooster, to succeed the late Dr. D. A. Heron.
Dr. Nesbit preached in Wooster three weeks ago, and made a most favorable impression. A committee which had investigated his work at Newcastle made a favorable report and the committee named weeks ago to suggest a new pastor, decided upon Dr. Nesbit. Their report was made at yesterday's church service.
With the Rev. R. T. Price presiding as moderator, an election was held, and Dr. Nesbit was chosen. The committee in charge has a statement from Dr. Nesbit indicating that he will accept the call.
It is expected that he will come to Wooster about the first of the year."
