Julius Gerlach Dies Suddenly Monday Night

11-16-43 Julius Gerlach, 70, lifelong Wooster resident, was found dead on the sidewalk in front of the home of his brother, William G. Gerlach, Quinby ave., last evening. Mr. .Gerlach apparently was about to visit his brother when he was overcome by a heart attack. After a passerby discovered the unconscious form, he was taken to Beeson Hospital, where Dr. Judd pronounced him dead. Mr. Gerlach was born in Wooster December 29, 1872, and had always lived in the old family home on South Bever st. For a number of years he had been caretaker of Memorial Hall. He was a member of I.O.O.F. Lodge, and Zion Lutheran Church. Surviving are two brothers, Col. Frank C. Gerlach and William G. Gerlach, both of Wooster. Funeral services will be held at the McIntire Funeral Home Thursday at 2 p.m., and burial will be made in Wooster Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday evening.

Julius Gerlach Rites are Held This Afternoon

Funeral services of Julius D. Gerlach, who dropped dead Monday evening, were held this afternoon at 2 o’clock from the McIntire Funeral Home, with Rev. Louis Gray of Smithville officiating. Pallbearers were Harry McClarran, Frank and Harry Gerlach, William Barnard, Arch Dice and Julius Kaltwasser. Burial was made in the Wooster cemetery. 11-19-43

Gerlach Funeral Services

The funeral services for Mrs. Johanna Gerlach held Thursday afternoon from the home on South Bever street, was attended by many neighbors and the members of the church and the organizations of which the loved mother and woman was a member. The floral tributes were most beautiful, special and elaborate pieces coming from the orders, and others from sorrowing friends. Rev. Frank Hellman of the Lutheran church conducted the religious service, after which the Pythian Sisters and Daughters of Rebekah followed with ritualistic services for the dead. The pallbearers were the four sons, a nephew and grandson. Interment was made at Wooster cemetery.

Mary Gerlach, 67 Years Old

Mary F. Gerlach, 67, of 2130 Eddy Rd., Wooster, died unexpectedly early Sunday evening at her home. Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in McConnell Funeral Home on North Market St., Rev. Gerald V. Pierson, assistant minister of Zion Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in the family plot at Wooster Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. Miss Gerlach was born in Wooster on April 7, 1904, to Col. Frank and Florence (McClarran) Gerlach, who have preceded her in death. She was a secretary for the Ohio Guernsey Breeders Assn. for about 30 years and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She is survived by her brother, Harry M. Gerlach of Austin, Texas.
