This is a listing of businesses by type of business organization.

  • Proprietorship - A sole proprietorship business with a single owner which does not trade stock with the public so they are not required to file information with the SEC or release to the public.
  • Partnership - A general partnership is a business entity in which the partners are jointly liable for the debts.
  • LP - A limited liability partnership is a business entity where at least one partner has unlimited liability and one or more partners have limited liability.
  • LLP - A limited liability partnership is a business entity where the debts of the partnership is limited.


Public - A public business that is traded on the stock exchange. This is important because they have to file information with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and release to the public.
