Caleb Brown (1768- 1854)

Caleb Brown was born about 1768. Caleb Brown married Desiah Case. They had a daughter Elizabeth. Caleb died the 15 October 1854 at the age of 86 years. Desiah was born about 1770 and died the 26 March 1850 at the age of 89 years. Both were buried in the Old part of the Fredericksburg Cemetery in Salt Creek Township, Wayne County, Ohio. On 5 September 1814, Caleb Brown purchased 160 acres in the northeast quarter of section 3 and the northeast quarter of section 9 in Salt Creek Township, Wayne County, Ohio. He was listed in the 1820 US Census in Salt Creek Township. He was listed in the Wayne County 1820 Tax List. In 1826 Caleb Brown own 3 horses, 3 cows and 160 acres in the of section 3 and 160 acres in the northeast quarter of section 9. The property was valued at $703.
