Biography

William H. Harry was one of four sons born to Jesse Harry (2/14/1816-3/25/1882) and Eliza A. (Stair) Harry, both born in York Co., Pennsylvania. William H. Harry learned the photography business by working with Benjamin F. Baltzly for a number of years before venturing out on his own by leasing the Teeple Art Gallery in September of 1873 in Wooster, Ohio. After William Harry died in 1892, his brother Albert S. Harry, operated the photographic studio until he sold it to Samuel H. Dawson in 1894.
