Business Biography

In 1870, the insurance firm of W.C. Myers Agency was founded. In 1970, the Myers and The Whitaker insurance agencies merged to form what is still known today as Whitaker-Myers. Whitaker-Myers Insurance Agency Inc. continues to maintain the same guiding principles which have earned the agency the trust of an entire community for generations. The firm now uses the trade name, Whitaker-Myers Group.

W. C. Myers & Co., of this city, represent many of the most prominent and solid companies and associations of this character both of America and Europe. This agency has been established for the past 17 years and has been noted for its prompt and equitable adjustment of all established losses. The individual members of this firm are W. C. Myers and P. C. Given, gentlemen whose many years experience and thorough familiarity with the principles and workings of all systems of insurance suggests the advisability of consulting with them before taking a policy. This company also represents the Wayne County Mutual Fire Insurance Association, of this city, for which Mr. I. H. Myers, Esq., is the general agent. The Wayne County Mutual Fire Insurance Association is represented by the leading agencies in various section of this state, and is unsurpassed by any mutual organization in the arena of fire insurance. Its officers are John Zimmerman, President; P. C. Given, Secretary; H. L. Wiles, Treasurer, and I. H. Myers, General Agent.
