- for the county of Hancock and
- State of Ohio on this second day
- of November in the year of our
- Lord one thousand eight hundred

- In the Record of the proceeding
- of said court among other things
- the following order to wit
- License to marry
- on motion to the
- Court and is appearing
- to the satisfaction of the
- Court that William H Suly
- is a regular ordained minister
- of the Gospel of the denomination
- usually called Methodist Episcopal
- Church. It is ordered that a
- License be granted to him to
- solemnize marriages within
- this state solong as he shall
- continue such Regular minister

- Court of Common Pleas in and
- for the County aforesaid, do hereby certify that at a
- Court of Common pleas, begun and held at Mansfield
- in and for the County of Richland aforesaid on the 1st
- day of January A.D. 1821, before the Honorable William
- Wilson President of our said Court and Robert Bentley,
- William Patterson and Isaac Osbun Esquire Associate
- Judges of said Court
- True Petty came into Court and made
- application for a license to solemnize marriages,
- And it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court
- that the said True Petty is a regular ordained
- Minister of the Gospel of the Methodist Church
- It is therefore Ordered by the Court that the said
- True Petty be licensed to solemnize marriages in the
- County of Richland, agreeably to the laws of this State
- In testimony whereof I have hereunto
- {Seal} set my hand & affix the seal of said Court
- at Mansfield this 12th day of January 1821
