The Record of Religious Incorporated Societies was donated to our department in 2015. It is in fragile condition. The dimensions of the book are 15" x 6 1/4". The first six pages of the book face the correct way. The remainder of the book appears upside down.

  6. by the members of the regular Baptist Society
  7. at Wooster in the township of Wooster in
  8. said County of Wayne as trustees of said
  9. Society, do hereby make known & certify
  10. the same and that we have given the said
  11. religious society the style & name of the
  12. Church of Betheny, agreeably to the act
  13. entitled "An act for the incorporation of religious

  2. We hereby certify that the members of Sugar
  3. Creek Congregation in Sugar Creek township
  4. Wayne County on the third day of August
  5. eighteen hundred and twenty two met to the
  6. number of 22 members at the house of public worship
  7. for the purpose of carrying into effect the act of
  8. incorporation (the same being advertized and published
  9. according to law) did then and there proceed to elect
  10. three trustees, and one clerk for the aforesaid congre=
  11. gation, and after giving the above name to said
  12. Congregation request that those proceeding be recorded
  13. as the law directs - Given under our hands, and
