Larwill?  The town of Madison became the seat of justice for the county on 30 May 1811.  In the April session of 1814, the town of Madison was vacated and [[Wooster, Ohio|Wooster]] was chosen as the county-seat (Douglass p. 284).  Wooster was incorporated as a town on 13 October 1817 and advanced to a city of the 2nd class on 9 September 1868.  To honor the incorporation of Wooster as a town, the Genealogy and Local History Department is offering a series of local history programs.  Upcoming local history topics of interest include: ''Murder, Mayhem and Mysterious  Hauntings of Wayne County, Ohio'' on October 12 from 6:30-8:00 p.m.; and ''Civil War Tokens of Wayne County, Ohio'' on November 9 from 7-8 p.m.  Other [[Genealogy and Local History Programs|upcoming programs]] are listed on our website.
