"April's Restaurant is Now Das Dutch Kitchen. April's Restaurant, 14278 Lincoln Way East, Dalton has changed hands and now goes by the name Das Dutch Kitchen.
One of the managing partners of the restaurant, Dennis Horst, said they had been working on the purchase with owner Dan Blosser for several months. Blosser purchased the restaurant from Harley and Fae Gerber in 1989 when it was called Michele's Place.
Horst officially opened the restaurant under the new name last Wednesday.
Horst, 25, from Columbiana, Ohio is part owner of the restaurant and had worked 4 1/2 years at Mary Yoder's Kitchen restaurant in Middlefield, Ohio. which is partner owns.
Horst also has a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Hesston College.
Expansion plans for the restaurant are underway. Horst explained, and along with it many new ideas.
"As soon as the building plans are approved and the weather cooperates we can start." he said.
An addition measuring 40'x100' will be a new dining area and a 40'x50' kitchen with basement will also be added.
The addition will be built to the East of the main restaurant, where the patio is now. This will add seating for about 200 additional customers to the already 38 for the present building."
