Historical Information

Millbrook was named by General Thomas McMillan. General McMillan originally surveyed the land. The town was laid out by Elijah Yocum on August 11, 1829. The plat and certificate were recorded on August 11, 1829 (vol. 7 page 315).

Just to the east of the town was originally a grist-mill built by McMillen in 1816 for John Nimmon. It later became a carding-mill.[1]
