The Wayne County Public Library's '''Genealogy and Local History Department''' can trace our ancestry back to 1953 when the Wooster-Wayne Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) indicated an interest in housing family histories and other resources of genealogical value in the Wooster Library.  We started with a small collection of [[family histories]] and [[Wayne County, Ohio|Wayne County]] information.  We have grown to include publications on north and northcentral [[Ohio]]; northeastern [[Indiana]], central and northcentral [[West Virginia]], [[Pennsylvania]], and [[Maryland]].  Other states of interest include [[Virginia]], [[New Jersey]], and [[New York]].
